GENERAL DISTRICT INFORMATION

Welcome to your Sylvania Recreation District! Below you will find information needed when visiting the facilities within the District.

Sylvania Recreation Corporation, by its Board of Directors, has established the following rules for all users of the District facilities. Sylvania Recreation Corporation Board of Directors may alter, change or add any rules deemed necessary. Failure to follow these rules could result in: Revoking of permit/usage, Host/user group will be held financially responsible for damages, and/or the Host/user group may become liable for any and all litigation due to their actions.

District Wide – General Policies

All District facilities are open for public use constant with the following rules and regulations unless otherwise stated via public postings at specific facilities or in rental agreements.

  • Parking permitted in designated areas only
  • Loitering is prohibited
  • Soliciting is prohibited
  • Littering/Dumping is prohibited
  • Foul language/Inappropriate behavior is prohibited
  • Remote controlled drones, planes or other devises are prohibited if the safety of the users is compromised.
All outdoor recreational facilities will follow policies related to potentially harmful weather conditions. Sylvania Recreation will be responsible for closures related to forecasted/current weather conditions.

  • Lightning Detection System –The District monitors an automated system designed to warn users of threatening weather.
  • o Sirens will alert users of dangers weather in the area
    o A yellow flashing light, atop the park office, will remain flashing when lighting has been detected

Athletic facility may be used by Recreation District affiliated groups or organizations for scheduled activities and practices. Open from dawn to ½ hour past sunset unless otherwise scheduled.

  • Field use must be scheduled through Sylvania Recreation District
  • Trash removal is the direct responsibility of the players, coaches and patrons
  • Athletic equipment may not be tampered with, modified or moved from its location by anyone other than Sylvania Recreation District Staff
  • Anyone utilizing personal athletic equipment while at Sylvania Recreation facilities assumes all liability associated with such use. This equipment must be removed after each use.
  • Sylvania Recreation District will be responsible for all athletic field closures.
  • Sylvania Recreation District personnel/game officials will be responsible for weather related cancellations

Pacesetter Park – Facility Policies

Open for public use consistent with General Policies and the following rules and regulations. Open from dawn to ½ hour past sunset unless otherwise scheduled

  • Grills/Open fires are prohibited
  • Recreational Vehicles are prohibited
  • Golfing is prohibited
  • Overnight parking is prohibited
  • Camping is prohibited
  • Alcohol is prohibited
  • Release of non-domestic animals prohibited
  • Controlled pets are permitted on a leash
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • Shelter houses open for public use
Open for public use consistent with General Policies and the following rules and regulations. Open from dawn to ½ hour past sunset unless otherwise scheduled.

  • Motorized vehicles prohibited
  • Bicyclists must yield to others
  • All protective gear recommended
  • Yield to all emergency and maintenance equipment
  • Keep to the right
  • Warn users when passing on the left
Open for public use consistent with General Policies and the following rules and regulations. Open from dawn to ½ hour past sunset unless otherwise scheduled.

  • Personal protective equipment recommended
  • Skating is restricted to Designed Skating Areas
  • Temporary obstacles are not permitted
  • Pets are not permitted in skating areas
  • Food/beverage is not permitted on the skating surfaces
  • Any and all types of bicycles and scooters are not permitted
  • Organized events must be approved by Sylvania Recreation District
  • Supervision recommended for children under the age of 13

Facility Specific Policies

Open for public use consistent with General Policies and the following rules and regulations. Open from dawn to ½ hour past sunset unless otherwise scheduled.

  • Grills/Open fires are prohibited. *Except in provided grills.
  • Recreational Vehicles are prohibited
  • Overnight parking is prohibited
  • Alcohol is prohibited
  • Controlled pets are permitted on a leash
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • Shelter house open for use
  • Camping is prohibited
  • Release of non-domestic animals prohibited
Open for public use consistent with General Policies the following rules and regulations.

Open daily; Memorial Day– Labor Day annually.
Hours of operation: 12:00pm – 7:00pm unless dictated by weather. Hours of Operation may change when schools are in session.

  • Admission Fee – $6.00
  • Children under 13 must pass a swim test. Any child unable to complete the test will not be allowed to swim off of the concrete stairs.
  • No inflatables, glass or glass containers, alcoholic beverages, open containers, pets, horseplay or smoking allowed
  • Soft sided Coolers are permitted (subject to search when entering the facility)
  • WATER SLIDE: Children under 42 inches are not permitted on the slide.
  • WATER SLIDE CAUTION: For safety reasons, pregnant woman and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the slide.
  • Three-man Saturn Bobber, Water Trampoline, Cable Rings and Diving Platform Rules: You must be at least 13 years of age or have passed the swim test to use these quarry features.
Open for public use consistent with General Policies and the following rules and regulations.

Open daily; Memorial Day – Labor Day annually.
Hours of operation: M-F – 11am–7pm; Sat – 11am-8pm; Sun 1pm-8pm unless dictated by weather. Hours of operation may change while schools are in session.

  • Admission Fee – Under 12 years -$3.00; 12 years and older -$4.00.
  • All persons under the age of 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
  • All persons under the age of 7 MUST have direct in-water supervision at all times.
  • All persons under the age of 18 must clear the pool 15 minutes before each hour.
  • Coast Guard approved floatation devices ONLY.
  • Diaper aged children MUST wear swim diapers.
